The good old days, sitting in a Boeing 747 while the cockpit crew performs the Checkerboard approach to runway 13 at Kai Tak. This is how the airport field looks nowadays, 10 years after closure.

This is the hotel where I stayed a night during my 2 days trip to Taipei. Lucky for me the booked room was not available and they gave me an upgrade. The Prestige Deluxe Floor room instead of a Deluxe room. The hotel was fabulous, a view on the approach path of runway 10 at Sung Shan Airport. the balcony. Also a view of Taipei City and ofcouse the 101. The breakfast buffet was the best, a lot of food to choose. Western, Asian, fresh fruit to many to list them here. I recommend this hotel to everyone.
